Our mission is to make a world of entrepreneurial dreams come true by enabling business owners and managers to help themselves -- without necessarily having to use additional outside resources. Our "team-learning tool" enables owners, managers and team leaders to capitalize on their company's collective knowledge and ingenuity, and to SAVE PRECIOUS TIME in the process. Enlightened Leadership: Best Practice Guidelines and Timesaving Tools for Easily Implementing Learning Organizations provides a new model and process that enables managers to more readily plan and execute organizational objectives.

You can use our team-learning tool to:

  • focus and accelerate your team learning and improvement initiatives

  • instill energy, empowerment, purpose and commitment throughout your organization

  • increase customer value

  • adapt to the global marketplace

  • become more successful

  • and never again wonder where to begin

We all know the secret to building a strong, innovative organization that creates real value for its customers is solid teamwork focused on company goals and objectives. High performance teams also know they must constantly seek out new and better ways to enhance the creative potential of people at all levels in their organization.

However, especially in the case of small and mid-sized businesses, service firms and non-profits, there has long been a serious impasse in the growth of management literature and practice. There is no unified management model for a "learning organization." Thus, despite years of rhetoric, there is still a lot of uncertainty about the best practices for improvement. As David Garvin said in his book, "Learning in Action" (Harvard Business School Press, 2000), we lack the ". . . guidelines and tools that transform abstract theory -- the learning organization as an ideal -- into hands-on implementation."

As Peter Senge, author of "The Fifth Discipline: The Art & Practice of the Learning Organization," (Currency Doubleday, 1990), more recently observed, we too believe that the tactical solution is to enable managers to avoid wasting time while capitalizing on all the available knowledge and ideas.

To remain competitive today, you must make your company's learning process meaningful enough and tactical enough for all of your employees to think out-of-the-box in more focused and efficient ways. By enabling people to collaborate and learn more quickly and efficiently, your entire organization will gain better control over its limited time and resources. In addition, aligning individual and company objectives more quickly will also lead to a greater level of commitment.

Enlightened Leadership introduces many new tools that will enable individuals and teams to:

  1. Learn to focus and accelerate and broaden and enhance their "team planning and learning in action" efforts in a way that enables them to easily blend knowledge sharing, problem solving, objective setting and performance management, with a carefully crafted backbone of best practices.

  2. Help people learn to trust and respect one another so their collective efforts will stimulate creativity and growth.

  3. Enable people to work together innovatively and responsibly to solve their company's most pressing problems and achieve their mission.

  4. Create a climate of learning emphasizing the total commitment to meeting and exceeding the expectations of customers and employees.

Enlightened Leadership provides the sorely needed guidelines and tools to create a learning organization. The book delivers a broad understanding of core business and management practices that enables people to see the larger picture and engage in big picture thinking across functions such as marketing, sales, service, operations and finance.

There is also a place for this book in business education. For instance, this "book of best practices" will be a great help to business students as a reference tool when analyzing and discussing case studies. At the same time, the book demonstrates how to apply systems thinking and analysis skills to business management situations. As well, the carefully worded best practices can help overcome language barriers.

Managers and business education students alike can use this printable e-Book for self-help and as a "team-learning tool." Its many internal navigation links and hot-links to every page number in the table of contents and the ten-page index make it an easy-to-follow, quick-to-use guide. The $21.00 edition is primarily for self-help and is printable 3 times per year. The $45.00 edition is printable 10 times per year for planning, training or educational activities. The $95.00 edition is printable 33 times per year. The "Buy the Book" link takes you to Powell's Books, where you can download whichever edition suits your needs.

Printing Instructions: The "digital rights management (DRM)" permissions are set to allow each page to be printed a certain number of times per year. You can choose to print the entire book that number of times, or you can elect to print only those chapters or sections that you want to use for "team planning and learning in action" sessions. To print the entire book, simply follow these guidelines:

  1. Set your printer preferences to "Duplex Printing" or "Double-sided Printing" and use "Reverse Order."

  2. Designate pages "i" (the Title Page) through "194" to be printed. Typically, the even numbered pages will print first.

  3. Then, follow your printer's instructions for turning those pages over to print the odd numbered pages.

There is no need to print the Front and Back covers to use the content of the book, although the endorsements on the Back Cover do a good job of describing the purpose and value of the book. Thus, if you wish to print the Front and Back covers and use them when you bind the content of the book, click on these Adobe PDF copies of the Front and Back covers and save them for printing. You can print the covers on plain white paper. However, the Front and Back cover images are most vibrant, and relatively inexpensive (about $2.00 per cover) when printed by a good "digital imaging" printing company on 60 pound, glossy cover stock. Either way, any photocopy shop can inexpensively bind your printed copies using your choice of a "wire coil" or a "plastic GBC" binding.
